Hi my friends, hope you all are happy and fine. Today I am going to introduce you a great book for your book collection. It is One Hundred Years of Solitude by a well-known writer, Gabriel García Márquez.
Gabriel García Márquez is a Spanish writer who won the Nobel Prize in Literature in 1982. He was born on March 06, 1927 in Aracataca, Colombia and died on April 17, 2017, in Mexico City, Mexico. He is very excellent at richly combining fantasy and reality into his novels and short stories.
One Hundred Years of Solitude is an excellent book. It is one of the best selling books in the world. Apart from that, this can be introduced as a turning point in the history of novels. In 1982, this book won the Nobel Prize in Literature.
This book tells us about the story of Buendia family story and the details of the endless conflict between the strong desire to be alone and the necessity of love. It is fallen into the category of magical realism and most of the people introduce this book as a novel with very rich language.
Though people say such a way about this story, for me, it is just a mad dream. 😂 Everyone has the same names. 😱 That means the same name is used repeatedly from generation to generation. For example, if the father is Jose Arcadio Buendia, then the son will be Jose Arcadio. 😑 When I read continuously, I felt it like a mess. Most of the time I lost the consciousness about the characters in the story. That means, when it talks about the father, I could not exactly recognize is this about the father or the son? Because they have the same name and most of the time the same incident is repeating from generation to generation. 🤔
And another important fact is the language. One sentence is long like a paragraph and consists of a lot of clauses. I had to read such a sentence at least twice the time to understand it. 😓 "When can I get rid of this trouble?", that is the only thought in my mind when I was reading this book. 😂
